Research at the Division of Physical Chemistry deals with surface and colloid science with strong links between experiment and theory. This area is approached with a broad perspective ranging from basic considerations of intermolecular interaction and their manifestations in condensed systems to practical consequences in industry and medicine.

Organization of Swedish Neutron Week 2024 in Lund

During May 29-31, 2024, the Swedish Neutron Scattering Society (SNSS) will hold its yearly conference at Stadshallen, Lund, and at ESS. The Division of Physical Chemistry and in particular Felix Roosen-Runge as main organizer are the local organizers together with ESS.

The Swedish neutron week aims to bring together all researchers in Sweden working on neutron science, from student to professor level, and covering topics from hard condensed matter over soft materials to biology.

In 2024, a particular focus will lie on the future around the European Spallation Source ESS in Lund.

The organizers SNNS, Swedness, ESS and Lund University welcome all interested to three days of interesting talks, discussions and community building in central Lund and at ESS.

Coorganization of Nordita Workshop "Fluctuations in Soft Matter"

The workshop will take place in Stockholm during April 8-12, and is coorganized by Felix Roosen-Runge.

The theme of the workshop is to explore opportunities how techniques emerging from large-scale X-ray and neutron facilities can be combined with simulations and complementary techniques for a comprehensive understanding of dynamics in complex systems ranging from metallic glasses over water to crowded protein solutions.

We bring together Nordic and international experts to stimulate a coherent view on the common underlying complexity of dynamics in soft matter.

More information via Abstract deadline for contributed talks is February 16.

COMMONS Center of excellence inaugurated!
