COMMONS is a five-year initiative supported by the Swedish Research Council, with the aim of promoting cooperation in chemical research related to biomembrane and biomolecular interactions. Through the establishment of a research school, a guest professor program and more exchanges and collaborations with other universities, the center strives to create a dynamic and international research environment with carrying capacity that will attract young researchers and guest researchers from all over the world.

At the inauguration, they chose to symbolize the quest for cohesion by tying the strings together instead of cutting a ribbon. These strings represent different structures that can be formed by different molecules, reminding us of the diversity that enriches our research.

The picture shows Emma Sparr, one of the PIs leading the Center, together with our newly appointed Dean at the Science Faculty,  Per Persson.
