Martin Malmsten has been appointed guest professor (20 %) at the division of Physical Chemistry from April 1.

Martin got his PhD, here at our division, in 1992. After that he worked for a short period in the pharma industry, Astra Arcus, before joining the Institute for Surface Chemistry (YKI), in Stockholm. There he stayed ca. 10 years, the last 5 years as managing director/CEO. He then continued to Uppsala University where he was appointed professor in Pharmaceutical Physical Chemistry in 2003. Since 2016 he is professor in Biopharmaceuticals, Biophysics and Drug Delivery. Martin is also director of the LEO Foundation Center for Cutaneous Drug Delivery, the current chairman of the Chemical Engineering division at the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Science, and Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Colloid and Interface Science.

Martin brings in new complementary competence to the division with his expertise in colloidal pharmacology. We are very happy and excited that Martin has found his way back to PhysChem, and look forward to many years of successful collaborative research.
