We have initiated a project aimed at systematically investigating the formation of mesoporous silica using the basic synthesis methodology with cationic surfactants (e.g. CTACl) as structure directors. We will investigate the means to control the structure by systematic alteration of the packing parameter of the surfactant complexes.
