Spectoscopic ellipsometry

PhD-course on Spectroscopic ellipsometry
Ellipsometry is probably one of the most versatile technique to study
processes at interfaces. Have you ever wondered on how ellipsometry actually
works, wanted to master the technique and be able to evaluate and understand
the data? Well, you will get an very good chance to learn all about the
theory behind the technique including the new spectroscopic ellipsometer
that we just bought at the department. A PhD course will start on Friday 15
of October at 13.15-15.00 in the new library at Physical Chemistry on second
floor, building 3 at the Chemical Center. The course will be led by Bengt
Jönsson (bengt.jonsson@bpc.lu.se) assisted by Tommy Nylander
(Tommy.Nyalnder@fkem1.lu.se) and will be based on the book Spectroscopic
Ellipsometry and Reflectometry: A User's Guide (Inbunden) by Harland G.
Tompkins from 1999 (ISBN 0471181722)
We have ordered 10 copies which will hopefully arrive soon. The plan is to
discuss one chapter every Friday between 13-15 in the new library at
Physical Chemistry on second floor, building 3 at the Chemical Center until
Christmas. Please let us know if you want to join!

PS If you already done your PhD (maybe even many years ago?!): Don't worry
you are also very welcome to join!
